Pastor Who Now?

Welcome to my website. My hope is that something here will be a blessing to you and will help you grow closer to God in your journey. My journey in ministry started when I was 18 and began volunteering with my Church’s junior high ministry. I owned my own video production company and had a dream of becoming a movie writer and director.

Pastor Chris Thomas

It wasn’t long before I sensed God calling me to become a pastor and I left home to go to a little Bible College in San Jose, California. While studying for my Bachelors degree I worked in youth ministry and college ministry in three different churches. Once I graduated I worked for three years as a full time youth minister in Southern California until I felt the call to finish my seminary degree and get ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

After two years part time at Fuller Seminary and then two years full time at Pittsburgh Theological seminary, I graduated with my Master of Divinity and was certified to be ordained. God called me to Michigan where I was ordained as an associate pastor and served in that role for nearly five years before being called to my current role of lead pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn.  I have been serving in that role for three years and still learning every day what it means to serve God and His people as a pastor.

I married my High School sweetheart at age 21 and can’t imagine walking this journey with anyone else. We have four sweet kids who keep us busy. My life is as mundane and uneventful as most but I am always struck by how God invades the most boring elements of life and gives them new meaning.

I enjoy thinking about the future of the Church. I have worked in two Church plants and thought God was calling me to plant a Church for a time. I have continued my love for Church planting by serving as a committee chair to our regions governing body. For more from me, check out:
